I have found that the Power Mode in shot types is more accurate to my realistic on course distance then any of the other shot types, lowest, highest, etc. I would like to see the Power mode included during the selection setup prior to playing/practicing on any given course.

Hi Guys~ The shot type Power is not available when setting up or editing a player because it is only supposed to be used in special circumstances like hitting out of the weeds. Mike is right that if your distances seem off, adding or subtracting from the Distance Adjustment is the way to go.

i also found that to be true on my setup. If you just add say, 5% to the distance on each club, you wont have to select power mode on each shot.

I would also suggest making sure your clubsets are a good match. I actually went through the exercise of getting all my club angles, shaft lengths, etc. from a website (Ping) in order to make things accurate. Since this is a basic science (speed of clubhead + angle = spin, distance) I did not want to adjust distance with percentages - my golf buddies think it's cheating. My results are very accurate now. Easy, straight drives are about 210-220 and if I crush one I can get 250-260, but sometimes I lose accuracy as my clubhead can get a bit out of whack.
hey guys when u add this 5% what do u set it at then? lowest - normal - highest I still have trouble matching. Not just 1 club, the whole set, do we have better option? thank you for any help
Leave it on normal. The other shot types are from lowest loft (punch shot) to highest loft (flop shot). Adjust your club distance by adding to the distance precentage, that way when you want to play a flop, the distance will resemble that of your actual club playing that shot. Long story short, establish an accurate base distance for each club. (on normal) By selecting the shot type afterward it will change the distance according to the loft. (higher loft=less distance) but at the same time, less loft means less hang time and therefore less distance also. All the power type is for is it will automatically crush the ball for you without you swinging your brains out. at least thats what ive gathered. I am very happy with my optishot. I did have to adjust the irons to 115 distance and they were very close to realistic. Right now I use it in my living room and I use my pitching wedge instead of my 3h 4h 16 degree h and driver. I set the swing speed adjuster to get as close as possible. I am moving this into my garage this weekend hopefully so I can swing my longer clubs. It is fun using a wedge as a driver because it is very hard to mis hit it. I shot one under par in the Hawaii course with this set up with 6 foot gimmes. I am sure when I am using the actual long clubs , I will be in the mid 80s . This thing has already helped my swing.
